Singing Valentines 2025

By Mia Queenan ‘27 (Reporter)

Singing Valentines is a highly-anticipated and beloved tradition for both students and faculty. This year, we got our serenades from FCS vocal groups the Treblemakers and the Acafellas on February 13 rather than Valentine’s Day itself because of a professional development day – and the Eagles Parade!

The song options ranged from “You Belong With Me,” by Taylor Swift, to “Can't Help Falling in Love,” by Elvis Presley, with on-the-spot improvisations from the singers making this year's Valentines all the more memorable. Certainly, the vocal groups put in an exceptional amount of work this year to far surpass our expectations and make their mark in the history of this tradition. I spoke with a student about how it felt to be the recipient of a singing valentine, and she said that, although it was a little embarrassing to be sung to in front of her whole class, it was a fun experience.

This tradition of love and friendship embodies one of Friends’ Central’s greatest values of community, a day full of laughter and surprises. The singing valentine’s brought everyone together and left us all excited for next year!
