The winter sports season has come to an end, and there were many successful moments to look back on. The sports that were offered this season were Boys’ Varsity Basketball, Boys’ JV Basketball, Boys’ Third-Team Basketball, Girls’ Varsity Basketball, Indoor Track, Boys’ Squash, Girls’ Squash, Wrestling, and Swimming. Each team worked as hard as they could to win throughout the season. We asked Mrs. Crowley for a statement on how she felt about the winter sports season, but she insisted that using actual quotes from student athletes this season would be more impactful. In these quotes, the various student athletes are speaking about their peers. A few of our favorite quotes are, “He brings dedication to the school team, motivating everyone else to do their best. He has fun, but gets serious exactly when he needs to.” Another athlete was called a “committed player, whose determination helped him greatly improve throughout the season.”, Finally, someone described their team this way: “[We] never gave up, even when we were behind.” The commitment to the sports offered in the winter sports season was incredible.

The Following Transcript will show all Winter Sports Teams and their final records:

Boys’ Varsity Basketball ended their season with a record of 13-9

Boys’ JV Basketball ended their season with a record of 7-9

All Friends’ Central winter sports teams played as hard as they could and it made for an amazing winter sports season. Also, The Friends’ Central swim team won the FSL Championship! There were not many major injuries which made for an amazing healthy season for all teams. The winter sports season went very well at FCS this year, and we hope for a smooth transition into the spring sports season. Also, good luck those who are still competing in winter sports activities like playoffs, states, and even nationals. GO PHOENIX!
